Think of a baby!! What is the first thought that crosses your mind???

Well, the 1st thing that comes to my wits is INNOCENCE. That wholesome innocence! The same selfless, loving, tender, gentle and warm approach towards everyone. They don’t categorize people based on their cast or creed. They do not set boundaries by the religion or region. They expect nothing but love.

Where is the same tenderness, warmness, selflessness and by n large innocence among us, grown ups, that we once would have possessed. How do we acquire jealousy and abhorrence as we grow? Don’t we believe that we are more mature and sensible than a child? Hhmmm, if so, then who is guilty for all the suffering, pain and sadness around? I am confident that all of you will agree with me that it’s not because of a child. THEN WHO?

Book; The deep end of the ocean

An exquisite book about a family whose youngest son gets kidnapped at the age of 3. About how this kid and his family reacts when they get him back after 9 years. About a mother who is shattered by the loss of his son and how she deals with the situation.

This is the book one will read with pleasure till the last page.

Wealth, some have so much that they don’t know what to do with it & some have so less that again they don’t know what ‘ALL’ to do with it.

Given 500 rs (USD 10) to the people of the different sections of the society, this is what they say they will do. Click here.

English translation of what underprivileged said:
  1. Buy school stuff
  2. Get groceries
  3. Will spend some on kids and rest will keep for future
  4. Buy things for home, some cloths, onion and tomato
  5. Will give 250 rs to mom and will buy toys with remaining 250 rs
  6. I don’t have stove, will buy that
  7. Will get a bed and a watch
  8. Pay my tuitions fees
  9. Will just hide it

While we eat at a pricey restaurant, there is someone who would have starved to death at the same time. As we are having an expensive haircut, someone is unable to pay his school fees.

A small contribution from us can make a large, if not immense, difference in the lives of needy.

As Winston Churchill said "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give".

Book; Marley & Me

Marley & Me”; while movie is a blockbuster, I just finished reading it.

Effortless recitations of how a pet can become an integral part of your life, however naught or troublesome they may be.This book makes you laugh and emotional.
I had a puppy at home and we felt miserable when we gave him away after a week. I don’t think person can ever fill the void left by their pet whom they would have nurtured for years.

I am sure anyone who reads this book will simply love it.

Microsoft Live Search

I ‘HAD TO’ write about this.
Few months back if anyone would have asked me regarding live search, my instant reaction would have been “Please don’t waste your time on it, instead juggle your brain and you will find better answer”. I had used it once and was terrified to see the result. That was the day; I concluded that it was the worst search engine & i was never ever gonna use it agian.

Couple of days back while speaking to our friends, he said about
MS live search and i right away said, its the most awful search site. He ask me to use it now, I was reluctant do so, but gave it a try with little or to be frank, no hope of finding anything useful. I was amazed by the improvement of the site. You find all the relevant search results unlike before, when one had to search for the relevent answer in the search response.
Now I can contentedly say, with no doubt, ‘MS Live Search is 90% as good as google or yahoo search’. I have been using it for few days now and am swayed by it.

Try it, to experience the change!!

Book; My Grandfather's Son

This is the 1st autobiography I have read & enjoyed. Knowing someone in their own words is kind of good.

My Grandfather’s Son is an inspirational book about a black man from deep down south of the US, who struggled and suffered his entire life and in the end became a justice of the Supreme Court. This book has some brilliant quotes, which are inspiring and encouraging.

Maida / All-purpose flour LADOOO

Yesterday I was longing for Indian sweets which we don’t get here. Oh, I so miss them :( . I searched for maida ladoo[as I had only all purpose flour at home] & had seen my friend preparing ladoo’s from it. But internet was of no use. I still made it and it turned out good, at least it did satisfy my immediate craving for something sweet.

Here is how I made it:
1 cup All Purpose Flour/Maida
½ cup Sugar Powered
½ cup Ghee (Clarified butter); You can even add more of it
2 crushed Cardamom
Dry fruits

- Roast the crushed dry fruits in ghee
- Add All- Purpose flour and fry it on medium flame for 5 mins
- Then Add powdered cardamom, sugar and ghee. Stir continuously till its slightly brown. You will be able to smell nice aroma.
- Once its golden brown, let it cool for few minutes
- Shape into ladoos

On New Yr Resolution('s)

Here is the year 2009 and given that its 1st week of the New Year, just about all the conversations begin with ‘What is your New Year resolution ?’ Ever year hundreds & thousands of resolutions are made, and then broken & then again thought to be busted once more. Just like going to the dentist, which keeps on repeating.

Why do we need a resolution? If we really desire to do something, why wait till the New Year to start it? If we really want to change ourselves for good, we don’t have to wait for an auspicious time. Why hang around? Feel like doing something good & positive, go for it "NOW".

And ya, already have a resolution(s), try to accomplish it :)
