Of late, I watched a documentary,“Wal-Mart, The High Cost of Low Price”.
It was hard to believe what workers had to say about the over all benefits they get, be it a pay check or a medical insurance or working hours or their work environment. I have heard people saying that they never shop at Wal-Mart and I used to wonder why. But after seeing this documentary I got an answer. Statistics shown in the film says it all. Read here. It’s sad to see the condition of the workers in China & Bangladesh.
Low price at WM is an end result of someone’s struggle, someone who works 7 days a week and is still not able to fulfill basic needs, someone whose sick kid can’t see doctor coz insurance will hardly cover anything.
